Well, in this case, it’s a new al fresco dining space at The Vineyard, Stockcross

The celebrated Vineyard Hotel & Spa is celebrating. Famed for its 30,000 strong wine list  – the clue’s in the name, right? – and excellent hospitality, The Vineyard is 25 years old this year. To mark the occasion, owner Sir Peter Michael has launched Catch, an al fresco dining pavilion focusing, as the name suggests, on seafood, fish and caviar.

Under the guidance of Executive Chef Tom Scade, visitors can expect sharing platters of fruits de mer, whole grilled Port Isaac lobster, and St Austell mussels ‘marinière’ as well as Spatchcock poussin, fregola and roasted peppers, the Vineyard Cheeseburger or roasted aubergine with tomato and mozzarella.

There will also be a series of celebratory events through the year starting, on July 7, with the return of five former executive chefs for The Grand Crew Dinner ( ho ho, see what they did there), a six course meal, paired with wines from 1998 to the present day, selected by sommelier Romain Bourger. Tickets are priced at £179 per person and can be booked right here.
