When your car and your outfit match, you know you’re in for a fine old time.

Lusso had a fabulous time of it at the Goodwood Revival, courtesy of Jaguar and their stable of classic sports cars and saloons. Based at the eponymous motor circuit in Sussex, the Revival is a celebration of motor sport in the years prior to 1966. A unique atmosphere is created by the perfectly-attired crowd being able to surround themselves with the culture, products, people and style that evolved in the motor industry through the 1940s, 50s and 60s, making this one of the world’s most exciting and evocative events.

Invited to spend the night at beautiful country house ‘Millicent’, near Petworth, an early morning full English (what else?) was followed by a time-warping drive in period clobber through the Sussex countryside. Lusso chose the muscular ‘74 automatic E-Type and then the gentlemen’s special, a gun-metal ‘67 3.8 litre Mark II for the return leg. Magnificent. Then a vintage bus ride to the circuit, a slap up lunch, some fist pumping racing and a chat with Jag brand ambassador, ‘world’s biggest male model’ and all round gent, David Gandy. Top day all round. Next year, then?
