Food. Lord’s. Howzat?

This September, Lord’s is breaking new ground. They’re hosting NASCAR.

No. They’re not. We made that up. The reality is quieter, tastier and less, well, American: Lord’s – The Home of Cricket – is hosting a non-sport related event. For the first time.

The event in question is The Home of Food (see what they did there) and it’s been curated by Yorkshire-based chef Tommy Banks, the man behind the Michelin-starred The Black Swan at Oldstead, the Michelin-starred Roots in York, the new, so probably-just-about-to-be-Michelin-starred The Abbey Inn, and The Edrich, located at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Expect Tommy, food trucks and some of the UK’s best chefs in a weekend of great food, culinary demonstrations, behind the scenes tours, banquets…

Other chefs involved include Richard Corrigan, of Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill and others, Selin Kiazim of Oklava fame, Gareth Ward of two Michelin-starred Ynyshir in Wales (voted UK’s best restaurant at the 2022 Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards), Northcote’s Lisa Goodwin Allen, Opheem’s Aktar Islam and Nokx Majozi and Liam Fauchard-Newman of Rosewood London’s Holborn Dining Room, who’ll be bringing their famous pies to the ground for the weekend, plus more names to be announced.

“Lord’s Cricket Ground is one of the most loved sports venues by fans across the world,” says Andy Muggleton, Commercial Director at MCC. “We wanted to open up the Ground and be able to welcome more people to enjoy the magic it has to offer.”

Tickets to The Home of Food are now live. And yeah, you know what to do…
