The New Forest’s Carey’s Manor & Senspa launches a Thai Tea Spa Break

Forget the passport queues, the long wait for luggage. And you can even forget the endless debate of whether its jam then cream or cream then jam on a scone. Although, obviously, it’s jam then cream and everything else is wrong.

But we digress. For a taste of travel without the hassle of actual travel, and for a spot of afternoon tea that isn’t a flaccid sandwich and a bit of cake, the New Forest’s acclaimed Careys Manor & SenSpa have launched the Thai Tea Spa Break.

Think crisp spring rolls with spiced vegetables and glass noodles; classic prawn toast topped with toasted sesame seeds and cucumber relish; and Yam Neua – grilled beef served on papaya with a sweet chilli and tamarind dressing. (And, actually, there are scones but they come with coconut cream. THEN jam. Obvs.)

As for the spa element, that’s two-and-a-half hours of “holistic wellness inspired by ancient Eastern rituals”: two hours of access to their state-of-the-art hydrotherapy facilities, from thermal rooms to the experience showers, and 30 minutes of Thai-inspired spa treatment with one of SenSpa’s therapists.

That’s followed by dinner – more Thai dishes, if you like, or a return to Blighty if you’re already homesick – and a night at the hotel.

The Thai Tea Spa Break starts from £525. For more details and bookings, take a look at their website.
