The Barolo En Primeur Charity Wine Auction returns for a second year

As we’ve got older, we’ve attempted – with varying degrees of success – to observe that maxim of drinking less but better. Now, thanks to the Barolo and Barbaresco Consortium, we’re wondering if drinking more and doing good might be the way to go…

The Barolo En Primeur Solidarity Charity Wine Auction returns in October 2022, with 15 barriques – and some 1200 bottles, donated by over 70 producers of Barolo and Barbaresco – the sales of which will go towards financing 15 different projects of social importance. Bidders can also nominate additional charities to benefit from the proceeds.

Each lot has a different starting price, from € 2,000 to € 18,000, and each lot includes a different number of bottles. Bottle sizes range from the regular to Jereboams, with labels designed by renowned Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto.

The fifteenth lot goes under the hammer during the International Alba White Truffle Auction, also from Grinzane Cavour Castle and in live streaming with Hong Kong.
