Promising the elegant vibrancy of Mayfair and village-like feel of Marylebone, new luxury hotel The BoTree is scheduled to open in July 2023.

If you’re spent any time just north of Oxford Street of late, you may have wondered what’s happening to that building. You know the one. Used to be a car park. Was home to a very dodgy “gentlemen’s” establishment and, more recently, the original bricks and mortar bit of MeatLiquor.

Well, not so obviously given its heritage but rather more obviously given its location, it’s going to be a hotel. A major hotel. A 199-room, five star hotel, in fact, and sister property to Middle Eight and The Guardsman.

Called The BoTree, the hotel – a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ Legend Collection – will also feature 29 stunning suites, bars, two destination restaurants (one with spectacular rooftop views of the city), a live music club, boutique a screening room and a fitness centre.

Designed, appropriately for anyone who knew what the building looked like before, by Amsterdam-based Concrete, The BoTree promises colourful natural fabrics, eclectic textures “created exclusively for the hotel” and each room will feature a reception space separated from the rest of the space by discrete sliding panels. Each floor, incidentally, will have its own host.

According to founder Rishi Sachdev, ‘The BoTree combines uncompromising standards with a purpose-driven approach to establish our own form of luxury. Conscious luxury. Our core values of Truth, Love and Compassion will drive our business decisions in this new hotel.”

We don’t know about that but we do know it’s a bloody brilliant location, stupidly handy for some of the best eating, drinking and entertainment in the capital and only a couple of minutes from the Elizabeth Line, putting Heathrow less than an hour away. Nicely planned, The BoTree. Very nicely planned…
