It’s always worth a look when Sunreef Yachts in-house design team procures a new customer order, especially when the brief simply asks for something ‘out of the ordinary’. Consequently, this summer one of Sunreef’s well-heeled clients will be receiving the plans for this: the ultimate 165 sailing catamaran and the biggest yacht of its kind on the market.

The design office can sit back and feel pretty smug about this multihull superyacht. At 210 feet long, interior space in the Trimaran has been fully maximised within all of the three hulls – resulting in a staggering 950m² of living space. Ample for 18 crew members and accommodation for up to 14 guests in total luxurious privacy.

The plans find the engine room, galley, crew, mess and laundry slotted neatly into the lower centre hull. Up on deck level (accessed via the central lift), a master suite of mind-blowing proportions is kitted out with two walk-in wardrobes, two studies, plus private access to the 30m² front terrace, which is an intimate relaxed space to take in the outstanding panoramic view.

Six cabins radiate out from the centreline main salon—three on each side—with their queen size beds facing the full-height windows. (An endless supply of vibrant sunrises and sanguine sunsets to be admired). The top deck features a large bridge, ship’s office and captains cabin, with formal dining for 14 under a sliding roof and an aft deck lounge. With this superyacht, Sunreef has gone and upped their sailing game.

Powered by four MTU 12V 2000 M84 engines at 1,635hp each, Trimaran has a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 20 knots, with a predicted range of 5,000 nautical miles. If there’s a more unique way to sail the oceans of the world, then we categorically want a glimpse of that too.
