The members of the Club of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the SLH, have awarded the Pangkor Laut Resort in Malaysia as its Best Hotel. The awards were presented at the SLH Gala Awards held at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand.

The award is presented to the hotel that has exceeded guests” expectations. The Club has 65,000 Members and a portfolio of 400 exclusive hotels around the world. Other hotels include the Cameron Highlands Resort, the Tanjong Jara Resort and the Spa Village Resort Tembok in Bali.

The Pangkor Laut Resort has won many awards over the last few years, including many top 10 positions in various publications, including the Daily Telegraph.

The Resort is a privately owned island located three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia, along the Straits of Malacca. The Island is only 300 acres and only a fraction has been developed to house the 142 luxury villas, the eight Estates and the award-winning Spa Village.

Resort Manager Jeffrey Mong said, ”It”s a honour to win such a prestigious award alongside all the other great and exceptional hotels in SLH. What is even more special for me is that our team members are recognised for the exceptional delivery of customer service, which in turn has left a lasting and memorable impression on our guests. After all, even though we are blessed on this island under the canopy of the rare beauty of our 2 million-year-old rainforest and Emerald Bay’s pristine beach, the actual delivery of the total experience is from the team and by the team.”
