As you read this, 47 vintage Rolls-Royces (and team Lusso) are powering through Europe on the Alpine Trial, a rally which faithfully re-enacts the original 1913 event. The original race saw the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost earn its reputation for faultless reliability and earning it coveted title of the ‘Best Car in the World’.
The cars will tackle over 1,800 miles over some of the world’s most spectacular and challenging mountain passes, echoing events a century ago. The original ‘James Radley’ 1913 Silver Ghost will compete – but with one crucial difference, this time, it will be joined by a contemporary homage, a brand-new, bespoke Rolls Royce and Lusso’s Charley Speed behind the wheel.
