Cosy tavern, gin parlour and salon styled in the period when Phileas Fogg set off around the world, the new cocktail bar from Inception Group brings their famously eccentric touch to London’s Covent Garden.

Sister venue to the award-winning Mr Fogg’s Residence in Mayfair, Mr Fogg’s Tavern is the latest quirky bar to come from Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, the inventive duo who set up Inception Group and the brains behind venerable London drinking establishments such as Cahoots, Bunga Bunga and Maggie’s.

Downstairs, Victorian oddities and trinkets adorn the wooden walls and hang from the ceiling, diligently put in place with characteristic flair and imagination. But sneak around the back and up the stairs and the magic really happens – you’ll find a hidden Gin Parlour and Salon (featuring over 88 types of gin) bedecked with ornate glass chandeliers, antique theatrical props and wigs and serving Tipsy Tea and cocktails.

The kitchen will boast real ales, ‘mother’s ruin’ cocktails and grog in traditional tankards, along with honest fare including ‘The Finest Pie in London Town’, served with traditional liquor alongside roast game, fowl and beast. Excellent venue for pre-theatre drinks or for a night out with a difference.
